APPLICATIONS

Add an application

Create the application record that groups targets, ownership, classification, reporting, and audit history.

Open Add application

  1. Sign in to Griffin and confirm the intended customer workspace.
  2. Select Applications in the main navigation.
  3. Select the Add application tab.

Complete the application fields

  • Name — required. Use the recognizable internal name used in inventory, reports, and audit history.
  • Description — optional. Explain the application's purpose so reviewers can identify the correct system and scope.
  • Criticality — choose low, medium, high, or critical. This prioritizes review and reporting; it does not increase scan intensity.
  • Data sensitivity — choose public, internal, confidential, or restricted to describe the data the application handles.
  • Business owner reference — optional but recommended. Identify the person accountable for business risk decisions.
  • Technical owner reference — optional but recommended. Identify the team responsible for remediation and operations.

  • Suspend blocks the application from active use while preserving its records.
  • Activate returns an eligible suspended application to active status.
  • Archive removes the application from active inventory while preserving its history.
